The Triathlon BC Sanctioned, Lake Windermere Aquathlon BC Provincial Championship Youth 8-11 event is a premier multisport event held at the iconic Kinsmen Beach in heart of the spectacular Columbia Valley.  This event is a continuous multisport event, meaning that the transition is timed and is considered part of the overall scoring for the event.  Aquathlon is governed under the same rules as triathlon, so no additional swim aids are permitted other than wetsuits.

The Aquathlon Youth 5-7 consists of a 50m swim in shallow water in Kinsmen Bay, in Invermere BC.  Participants should come prepared to swim in cold water and youth should have a wetsuit if possible.  Life jackets are permitted.  There will be volunteers assigned to the swimmers.  We know parents love to help and we ask parents to please formerly volunteer by contacting lakewindaqua@outlook.com, this way we can have adequate help in the water without overwhelming and crowding the swim area.  Parents are encouraged to help their youth in the water.  After exiting the swim course, participants will transition into running shoes for a 500m run  (1 x 500m laps - Course TBD) around the closed-course, paved pathway system surrounding Dorothy Lake.

SPECTATORS

Spectators may watch the entire event from Kinsmen Beach and surrounding area, although the pathway system around Dorothy Lake is closed for the race.  There are cafe's and pubs within viewing area.  Parents are encouraged to volunteer and cheer on their athletes!

PRIZING

There will be participation prizes for all youth.

All finishers are eligible for draw prizing and age group scoring recognition.
