TRI HUB 1500M OPEN WATER SWIM

  • AGE REQUIREMENT: 14+ (Age is determined as age in the year of Competition - Eg. Your age as of Dec.31st 2022)

  • DISTANCE:  1500m Swim (2 x 750m) Laps

  • Aquathlon Worlds Championship Qualifier: NO

  • Waves: YES (if necessary) - 40 swimmers   

  • Water Temperature Classification: Cold Water Swim  15°-16°C  > Wetsuit Required

  • Event Rules: Triathlon BC  / World Triathlon 

  • Facilities:  Water supplied on race site, Flush toilets, outdoor showers.  Nearby restaurants, accommodation and shopping.    

 

The Triathlon BC Sanctioned, Lake Windermere Aquathlon, Tri Hub 1500m OPEN WATER SWIM event is a premier swimming event held at the iconic Kinsmen Beach in heart of the spectacular Columbia Valley.  No swim aids are permitted other than wetsuits (eg. paddles fins etc.).  Swimmers are encouraged to have a volunteer or family member  paddle along with them, close by, but out of the main field of swimmers. 

 

The 1500m Open Water Swim consists of 2 x 750m swim laps around Kinsmen Bay, in Invermere BC.  Participants should come prepared to swim in cold water.  

 

SPECTATORS

Spectators may watch the entire event from Kinsmen Beach and surrounding area, although the pathway system around Dorothy Lake is closed for the Aquathlon race.  There are cafe's and pubs within viewing area.    

 

PRIZING

trihub.ca sponsored prizing.  All finishers are eligible for draw prizing and age group scoring recognition as well as a prize for top 3 male and female overall.
